The Somunium
WARNING: This film contains images of war.
A short film exploring the feelings of a man struggling with the reality of his dreams.
I wanted my main character to have a hidden disability that may be a gift as well. I chose narcolepsy as my sister has a form of epilepsy that resulted in her having hallucinations based on reality, to her they were true. It was a small step to wonder what it would be like if her hallucinations were real.
I am passionate about film, my interest is wide and included all aspects of film. I spend a lot of time not only watching films, but also researching the film making process. My dream is to be a film director.
Greg
This film was made as part of what we want!, a media grants project run by Futureversity (formerly Tower Hamlets Summer Uni). For more info see www.summeruni.org/whatwewant
Recently finished shooting everything however still got a couple shots to go. All The dark shots (as seen above) were lit by a laptop screen - ‘true guerilla filmaking’. All the shots (above) are from the film.
The Beginning of the End…
Finally got a blog! Yes, I realise this is very near the end of the project but I thought I’d atleast have a go at blogging. It is very close to the edit so I’m going to try to post alot of things regularly.
Greg’s project
Greg’s film project is about a man dealing with the narcolepsy and whether the visions he has of wars are something more sinister than just narcolepsy induced dreams.
